DAZ for DeFi

Can sovereign-backed Digital Access Zones (DAZs) act as “digital jurisdictions” that hard-wire compliance into DeFi so protocols can launch in minutes, not months? In this note, we sketch how DAZs blend legal enforceability with programmable rails (KYC/AML, tax, dispute resolution) and why this could unlock institutional-grade DeFi, especially for real-economy use cases. This is an open exploration: we welcome critiques and partners who want to pressure-test the model!

We thank Hugo Mathecowitsch for walking us through the Tools for the Commons use cases, and we encourage readers to follow this initiative closely.
